Dear friends of the Alpha Foundation of Howard County, Inc.
I am honored to welcome you to the 50th Annual Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr. Breakfast Celebration.
This year’s theme is “50 Years of Service and Solidarity”, and I can’t
think of a more 昀椀tting description of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
and the Kappa Phi Lambda Chapter. As an Alpha Man, I am incredibly proud of how the “House of Alpha” continues Dr. King’s legacy of uplifting the younger
generations. Our fraternity has a rich and time-honored history of providing service and
advocacy for our communities.
This annual breakfast is an opportunity for like-minded people to come together to
celebrate how far we’ve come and to look ahead at the work yet to be done. I 昀椀nd such
strength in working together to support one another in this noble endeavor to help the next
generation achieve academic success and adopt a love of service for all humankind.
Your support is the bedrock of the vital work of the Alpha Foundation of Howard County,
Inc. does daily to ensure that Howard County students are prepared for academic study,
entry into the workforce, community service, and leadership.
Thank you for your steadfast partnership, and I’m honored to celebrate with you
the tradition of service and advocacy for our brothers and sisters.
First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All.
Sincerely,
Calvin Ball,
Howard County Executive
